Marina Kovacevic immigrated from Banjaluka, Bosnia and Herzegovina, as a refugee when she was a child. She graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and Political Science. She received her Juris Doctor degree at Arizona State University, Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law, with the highest honor distinction for pro bono service.


During her educational experience, she worked with the American Civil Liberties Union, where she assisted in lawsuits against the Maricopa County Sherriff’s Office for racial profiling pursuant to Arizona Senate Bill 1070. At the Immigration Law & Policy Clinic, she advocated on behalf of children seeking Special Immigrant Juvenile Status while also volunteering with Community Outreach and Advocacy for Refugees to aid immigrant families in transitioning to life in the United States. She also served as the Executive Managing Editor of the Law Journal for Social Justice.


Marina joined Salvatierra Law Group in September 2015. Under Ms. Salvatierra’s supervision, Marina assists clients with Stateside Waiver Applications (Form I-601A), Petitions for U Nonimmigrant Status (Form I-918), and Applications for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (Form I-821D).
